Welcome to the OLAS York University chapter website!

 

We are a student association geared at showcasing and sharing the various aspects of Latin American culture. Our mission is to promote our culture while creating a welcoming learning environment and a safe space for all individuals interested in exploring it. 

 

Our organization spreads awareness and educates our members about issues within the community in both Canada and abroad, as well as connects them with local businesses within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). OLAS demonstrates diversity as our organization encourages all students to join us despite their ethnical backgrounds.

 

Since 1992, we have been rapidly growing and creating relationships with other cultural clubs at York University. We pride ourselves on participating in Culture Fest and hosting fun and engaging events for our members.

 

As of today, our organization has grown to have over 400 active members whom we have assisted in balancing school with their social lives. Throughout the year we hold a variety of activities such as Spanish and Portuguese language classes, dance classes, study hours, town halls, holiday events, parties, and more.

 

By joining the OLAS family you will not only interact with York University students, but also with students from OLAS & LASA chapters from Toronto Metropolitan University, University of Toronto, Queens University, MacMaster University, George Brown College, OCAD University, and many others.
